80s animes were boss, free of moe cliches, & were the ultimate era of Girl Power (except for the brief period in the 90s when Slayers came out).

I'll probably end up lumping early 90s & late 70s anime in here, but....Bubblegum Crisis, Gunsmith Cats, Dirty Pair, Dominion Tank Police, Wind of Amnesia, Ogre Slayer, Rupan III, Macross (Robotech), Hyaku Ju Ou Golion (Voltron), Ribbon Fighter (Rainbow Brite), Boku Patalliro, Kaze to Ki no Uta, New Cutey Honey, Riding Bean, Lum Urusei Yatsura, Gall Force (the movies, not the series), & the list goes on & on.
